The initiative was carried out in partnership with the Ministry of Family, Inclusion and Social Development, and involved the local community and the diaspora.

During the handover ceremony, the Mayor of Brava, Amândio Brito, expressed his satisfaction, emphasizing that it was "a great satisfaction" to return to the community of Lém a kindergarten transformed into a "dignified, comfortable, welcoming and safe" space, with physical, pedagogical and didactic conditions suitable for the teaching and learning process.

According to the mayor, the intervention became necessary due to the advanced state of disrepair of the building.

“This initiative to rehabilitate this preschool facility arose precisely because it was in a very worrying state. Within the framework of the partnership established with the Ministry of Family, Inclusion and Social Development, we secured part of the funding, but as we worked on the project, we realized that the space was more deteriorated than it had seemed,” he explained.

Brito also highlighted the municipality's financial effort, despite budgetary limitations, with the aim of offering the community, especially the children, "something that would definitely be good".

He also highlighted the contribution of partners from the Lém school based in the United States of America and the local community association.

"Through a joint effort, a true 'Djunta Mon' (a Brazilian Portuguese word meaning 'Join us together' or 'Join us together'), we have managed to have this space rehabilitated today, with dignified conditions for carrying out the teaching and learning process," he stated.

In turn, the president of the Lém Locality Community Association, Anselmo de Pina, expressed his satisfaction with the realization of a "long-held dream" of the population.

“We fought hard to make this happen. Today our children have a decent space to learn, play and spend their days,” he said, thanking the City Council and all those, both in the diaspora and in the country, who contributed to the completion of the project.

Parents and guardians also expressed their satisfaction, noting that they feel more at ease knowing that the children attend a safe space with good conditions to accommodate all preschool students.

With the rehabilitation of the "Nho Taninho" Kindergarten, the municipality reaffirms its commitment to improving educational infrastructure and promoting better conditions for the development of children in the municipality of Brava.
